Rebuild Together Seeking Applicants

Do you or know of someone who needs home repair assistance? Our local chapter “Commerce, Walled Lake, Wixom, Wolverine Lake”, are accepting applications for 2010. The non-profit organization provides free home repairs to low-income homeowners, , especially elderly, disabled, military veterans, and families with children who often have no place to turn when they need help. With proof of residency, Wixom residents can pick-up free mulch and compost of up to five (5) cubic yards (combined) per Wixom address on a first-come-first-serve basis until the 1,000 cubic yards per year has been reached. Learn More

October 6, 2009 legislation was signed by Governor Granholm establishing a fifth Michigan renewable energy tax credit.  The bill gives tax credits totaling $100 million which can be used once production begins in 2012. Read More

Formerly known as the Adopt-A-Truck Program, the City of Wixom Department of Public Works (DPW) offers the use of a 9-cubic yard box container to assist Wixom residents in disposing large quantities of compostable yard waste.
