•  PILOT COMPRESSED WORKWEEK PROGRAM 
   
  After realizing the benefits of a compressed work week, the program has been renewed and extended through June 30, 2009. The initiative is intended to extend financial resources, reduce operational costs, reduce taxpayer expense, reduce employee commute costs and time, and increase access to government during non-traditional work hours.  City offices will be open 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday. Police, Fire/Rescue, Library and DPW maintenance will be unaffected by the change.  DPW office hours will be 7:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday.
   
  Wixom residents are reminded that the City's website, www.cityofwixom.com contains valuable information regarding programs and services and provides links for recreation program registrations, utility payments, contact names and numbers, etc. Additionally, utility payments can also be made via the lock box payment system, by mail or by deposit into the collection box located in the entryway at the Police Department.

•  Award for Top Performing Community in Attracting Entrepreneurial Businesses

  The City of Wixom was again recognized for their recent title as a 2007 Metro Detroit Entrepreneurial City by U OF M Dearborn as a top performing city in the areas of economics and business, this time by Oakland County.  The award from the County was presented during a board meeting Friday, June 15.  Pictured left to right is Oakland County Board Chairman Bill Bullard, Jr., Oakland County Commissioner Jeff Potter, Assistant City Manager Tony Nowicki, City Manager Mike Dornan, and Oakland County Deputy Executive Gerald Poisson. The City of Wixom is now leasing a portion of its Fire Station #2 on Pontiac Trail to HVA. This provides us with  paramedic quarters and an ambulance garage.  HVA staffs a paramedic emergency ambulance there 24/7 to serve Wixom and the surrounding  communities. Click link to read more.
